Long-term cooperations

We live partnership

Our dealings with customers and partners are characterized by honesty, loyalty, friendliness and responsible action. Together with its partners, the company also wants to live up to the standard of sustainability.

Since the beginning, Hevert has worked with a broad network of selected partners with whom we have, for the most part, maintained long-term relationships. Only in cooperation with these partners can Hevert meet its ambitious goals. Therefore, Hevert seeks out partners based not only on their professional expertise, but also on their environmental and social standards and for existing partners encourages their orientation towards sustainability. Examples include promoting certification such as that of the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) or the requirement to supply controlled, organically farmed products. The ethical standards of the partner, such as the exclusion of biopiracy or child labor, even in preliminary products, are monitored by Hevert Purchasing. This way the company positively influences the purchasing behavior of its partners, supports them in their efforts to practice sustainability and paves the way for other environmentally conscious companies.

For its efforts and accomplishments regarding sustainability, Hevert-Arzneimittel was awarded the title “Future-oriented Company 2015” by the “Future Initiative Rhineland-Palatinate” (Zukunftsinitiative Rheinland-Pfalz, ZIRP). The decision of the independent jury was based on Hevert’s creativity, seriousness, long experience, and diversity of actions on behalf of social sustainability.

As a family business from the Nahe Valley with strong local roots but international ambitions, Hevert values the strengths of its country and region. The company is a reliable partner to the local interest groups and feels connected to Bad Sobernheim, where naturopath Pastor Emanuel Felke practiced for many years.

Hevert-Arzneimittel is actively committed to its roots in the Nahe Valley and its home in Nussbaum and Bad Sobernheim. “Work where others vacation” – The idyllic landscape of the Nahe Valley, with its vineyards and the Soonwald-Nahe nature park, make this a popular motto for many people in the region. Hevert, as a top employer, would like not only to contribute to the attractiveness of the region as a place to live and work. The company also regularly participates in regional events or organizes its own events. Since 2015, the Hevert Organic & Regional Christmas Market has been a regularly-scheduled event for the specialists in natural medicine. At a site where medicinal products typically run on conveyors, visitors can expect holiday flair from market stalls, Christmas trees, and many bright lights.

The company also provides support as a member of the regional “SooNahe” alliance. Hevert also regularly opens its doors to local visitor groups and works together with the Felke spa hotels in and around Bad Sobernheim. Together we want to preserve the therapeutic ideas of the famous naturopath and honorary citizen of Bad Sobernheim, Pastor Emanuel Felke, and use them for the health of the people.

For some years now, Hevert-Arzneimittel manages and designs the medicinal herb garden on the grounds of the open-air museum in Bad Sobernheim. In an area of about 250 square meters, pharmaceutical and botanical knowledge about a multitude of medicinal and culinary herbs is imparted to interested visitors. All medicinally active plants in the Hevert Medicinal Herb Garden have signs providing information on the German and Latin names of the plants and their areas of application. The medicinal herb garden is designed to provide an accurate picture of the appearance and medicinal properties of the medicinal herbs to visitors, and to enrich the open-air museum, with its lovingly restored typical Rhineland-Palatinate architecture. The visitors of the museum of local history in the Priorhof in Bad Sobernheim can also have a look at various medicinal herbs in its garden. As part of the Felke anniversary week, the garden was dedesigned by Hevert employees on a voluntary basis and now invites visitors to linger.

Let disadvantaged people participate

Hevert would like to help those who are less fortunate to share in the success of the company, so it takes responsibility by supporting charitable causes.

Hevert-Arzneimittel has been aware of its social responsibility since the beginning and supports regional, national and international social projects and activities. Hevert is especially passionate about the commitment by the architect Diébédo Francis Kéré, whom the company has supported since 2006. The award-winning architect and professor realizes development projects in the fields of education, healthcare, and nutrition in his home village of Gando in the West African country of Burkina Faso with his association “Kéré Foundation e. V.”. Its goal is to break the cycle of poverty and inequality and to help people to help themselves.

Hevert is the main sponsor of a new school building and a library in Gando, and is financing the construction and expansion of a secondary school until today. The regular donation is a sign of how reliable its commitment is, and is intended to provide lasting planning security. Kéré is also supported in his charitable endeavors by the Hevert-Foundation. With the support of its customers, Hevert was already able to donate more than €461,000 to the association since 2006.

In 2021, the Hevert Foundation made a €100,000 donation in support of the Gando school project. This financed the completion of the secondary school, the production of furniture for the school and a large number of mango trees to provide fruit and shade.

For the 10-year anniversary of the Hevert campaign, Mathias Hevert and the association founder Francis Kéré returned to Gando in spring 2019 to see the project’s progress first hand. The exciting impressions from this trip were captured in a video. See for yourself by taking a look at Gando.

Together with the Hevert-Foundation the company also supports those in need in the community around the corporate headquarters in Nussbaum. The Hevert Cup, the Hevert benefit soccer tournament, has been taking place biannually since 2010. Up to 20 company teams from the region line up against each other at the playing fields in Nussbaum to play together for a good cause. The total proceeds for the tournament are donated for social welfare projects in the region.
